O vinici
The grapes for PROQIN wines grow in the Pálava Biosphere Reserve – the wine villages of Pavlov, Klentnice and Mikulov, where unspoilt nature meets limestone bedrock and the south-easterly wind gives the wines freshness and tension.
The second part of our story belongs to the wine village of Velké Němčice in the Velké Pavlovice sub-region, on the Punty site (exactly the 49th parallel north), where the grapes ripen and where our cellars for classic sparkling wines are.
From vineyard to bottle – everything by hand, honestly, by the traditional method of bottle fermentation.
A pursuit of perfection
Founder Martin Prokeš set out in 1997 with a clear goal — to bring the tradition of true sparkling wine production to Moravia. After years of trial and error he created the PROQIN brand, which today represents the pinnacle of Moravian winemaking.
Gentle from vineyard to glass
Our work begins in the vineyard and ends only when the wine is ready – not when the calendar says so. We harvest by hand, in small batches. Whole bunches are pressed gently so that we take only the purest heart of the must. We give the base wines time, and we let the second fermentation in the bottle age patiently, so the bubbles round out and the taste deepens. We do not mask the character of the place – we make way for it. The landscape of the Pálava Biosphere Reserve, honest handwork and long ageing do the quiet work for us. Our aim is a wine that burdens neither nature nor people: clean bubbles that leave a trace in the memory, not in your head.
