PROQIN is a family winery and, by Czech standards, one of the smaller producers, farming four hectares of its own vineyards. Alongside a range of quality wines with attributes, we offer sparkling wines made by the traditional method of bottle fermentation. Our range also includes specialities such as altar wines, ice wines, straw wines and grape seed oil. Our wines win a number of awards at Czech and international competitions every year.

Our services cover not only the production and sale of wine but also, through our online shop, delivery to your door. You are equally welcome to visit our newly built cellar in Velké Němčice, where there is a wine shop.

PROQIN specialises in sparkling wines, made by hand using the traditional method of bottle fermentation for at least 12 months and often longer. Opening those bottles is the speciality of the younger brother, Kamil Prokeš, a three-time Czech champion in sabrage – opening sparkling wine with a sabre or some other curious object: a horseshoe, a folk-costume boot, a glass, even a golf club. It is always a welcome attraction, both at parties and here in our wine cellar.

In its work PROQIN respects and builds on the tradition of Moravian winemakers, while bringing new methods of production and ageing to its still wines. The Prokeš family has been making wine in Velké Němčice and Němčičky for several generations. The family’s winemaking fate began with an unhappy accident: in 1958 great-uncle František drowned in wine. Now the wine has to give something back. The winery was founded in 2007. Father František Prokeš and both sons, Martin and Kamil, had all worked successfully for other winemakers, but decided to bring their education, skill and experience together in a family business – one without technology worth hundreds of millions, but where you will not find PROQIN on ordinary supermarket shelves. The wines are made in limited batches for a small circle of satisfied customers.

Among the awards we are glad to mention are the bronze Winemaker of the Year titles for 2012 and 2013, AWC Vienna, King of Wines, Grand Prix Vinex and the San Francisco International Wine Competition. In autumn 2013 Matthias, a Pinot-Chardonnay classic sparkling wine, became champion of the world sparkling wine competition in Crimea. Our wines have also been included in the Salon of Wines of the Czech Republic.
